What's New @ The Commune

What's New @ The Commune

My last update was my fall Zine posted in October or last year. January-October of 2025 were some of the hardest months of my life and likely showed through my work. My art felt very Tortured Poets, IYKYK. And then when we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to our third and last dog from our pack I decided to take a winter break from Sage & June to mentally recover. In that recovery period, The Commune gained a new family member.

Olive has been the perfect addition to The Commune. She loves being a little farm dog and loves being a studio dog. She has encouraged me to step back into the studio again. While I haven't pulled the sewing machine out quite yet, I have been making physical zines like a mad woman. I started with an idea of a zine showing a basic day at the ocean. The zine A DAY AT THE  BEACH was inspired by a trip we took to the coast with Olive shortly after adopting her.

While Olive didn't appreciate walking on Cannon Beach that rainy December day, she loved relaxing in front of the huge window whale watching from the comfort of the hotel couch.

Not only did our first family trip inspire my first zine, but it also inspired the first Sage & June product in a long time. I had a lot of plans for Sage & June 2025 but with the studio delays and the loss of our three senior dogs my ability to manage a storefront dwindled. That is all going to change soon! My first physical zine A DAY AT THE BEACH inspired me to create my first sticker since year one and my first button. This collection feels right and I don't think any of it would have happened if not for Olive and the time we spent in the hotel room whale watching that rainy December weekend.

If you're interested in seeing what our day at Cannon Beach was like visit my shop and order the zine A DAY AT THE BEACH. As for the new sticker and button combo, they are coming soon!
